TOURS
About Our Tours

Information:
We specialize in nature tours for small groups, with in depth environmental and biological interpretation. Our leaders will add cultural and historical information appropriate to the areas through which we pass. For a deeper understanding of culture and history and a more rounded experience of St. Lucia, we have a selection of sites and attractions tours that have been chosen specifically for this purpose.

Tour Leaders:
All tours going into the bush, or covering difficult terrain, or where trails are unclear, will be accompanied by two leaders. We recommend two leaders for these type of tours. Kayak, Snorkeling and Scuba Diving tours will depend on numbers per tour. All of our tours are conducted in English.

Transport:
All tours are inclusive of all transfers. For couples and threesomes we shall usually use our in-house 4x4 transport, which has ample secure space for luggage and equipment. For groups of 4-12 we utilize our 14 seater bus, so there is ample space for your packs, binoculars and refreshments.

Group Sizes:
Our minimum group size is 2 persons.

We are ready to assist single travelers, but regrettably we have to charge almost as much as the 2 person rate to cover fixed costs.

The maximum group sizes are:
10 for kayaking
10 for hiking
10 for birding
30 for Snorkeling
30 for scuba diving

Accommodations:
All multi-day tours can include accommodation. In locations where different standards and prices of lodgings are available, we offer the client the choice of mid-level or upmarket hotels. These would approximate to 2-star or 3-star on international scales. However, whatever the standard of fixtures and fittings, all our accommodation partners have been selected because of the quality of their management, their assiduous attention to their customers and the culinary delights that emanate from their kitchens. For budget clients.

Scheduling:
In general all tours are offered all year round, though certain trips that could be hazardous after heavy and prolonged rainfall may not be offered in the late rainy season when run-off is at a maximum and flash-flooding possible.

Camping/Hiking/Bird Watching:
All the above activities are under the direction of the Ministry of Forestry and therefore sanctioned and operated in collaboration with the Government of St. Lucia.

On camping tours we provide lightweight two-person tents with integral ground sheets, sleeping mats, camp stove, pots and pans, water filter etc Please bring your personal gear and medications, a backpack of appropriate size (70-90 l) and either a sleeping bag or a bag liner (which is usually sufficient as temperatures rarely fall below 24°C). We expect our clients to share in carrying the total load with their leaders, including the camping gear and food. For an additional fee porters can be hired.

Health and Safety:
Your itinerary is subject to change depending on weather and water conditions. DFH Kayaking reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or reroute all tours in the interest of customer safety and satisfaction.
